On 6 June 2012 many major internet service providers (ISPs), home networking equipment manufacturers, and web companies around the world are uniting to redefine the global Internet and permanently enable IPv6 for their products and services.
The Spamhaus Project endorses actions such as these to push forward the growth of the modern internet. We feel IPv6, as with DNSSEC and Secure BGP, are major steps in keeping the technology of the internet current, expandable and more secure.
But now for a bit of truth-telling. Spamhaus has been a bit ahead of this curve on IPv6. We set up permanently enabled mirrors for our DNSBL data on IPv6 space in February of 2008! Any small to medium volume email receivers, ISPs or companies can query our zones (currently, the zones are the same IPv4 IP-address & domain blocklist data served on the IPv4 mirrors) by looking up our zone names' AAAA records from their IPv6 networks and send queries via this path.
