Canned Spammer: "The Godfather" Alan Ralsky locked up

Leaving a wake of over 12 years of criminal spamming and trillions of sent junk emails behind him, long time ROKSO-listed spammer Alan Ralsky is finally behind the walls of a US Federal Prison. After pleading guilty to multiple federal criminal charges, and after time extensions to "get his affairs in order", Ralsky reported to FCI Morgantown in north-central West Virginia on March 1st to start serving his 4-year, 3-month sentence.

The US Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator now shows a new record for him. This replaced a record from the last time he was extended the hospitality of the federal prison system back in the 1990's.

This is great news as any spammer behind bars means a spammer not spamming. But before one starts dreaming that he'll be living in cell conditions similar to the portrayals in movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Midnight Express or Papillon, think again and read this "review" posted at the PrisonTalk blog:

"FCI morgantown seems really nice to me. Especially compared to a higher security place. It is like a beautiful college campus. They live in units (dorms) and go to classes, work, dinner, watch football together, play cards, softball, workout, lift, cook. My boyfriend is there and he's doing just fine. The visitation goes well. just follow their dress code and there are no problems. There are lots of couples, families, and kids."

Other posts echo this "country club" vision.

A few years behind bars still may not cure Ralsky's chronic wish to spam, nor cure his over 20-years of criminal behavior, but it should cure his reported addiction to cigarettes as the prison handbook states "FCI Morgantown is a tobacco product free institution". This handbook is an interesting read.
